Small Bathroom Storage Solution

Having a small space poses problems for most. But, for me, I look at it like a challenge! We have this one teeny tiny bathroom! It's great because it has a shower, a toilet, AND a sink. But, it's tiny and there's not much storage in there. It's located near our back door so it's great for our guests who come over to use that restroom, but we also like to have it for overnight guests to use, as it's a spare bathroom for us. So I came up with a great storage solution!

How to Fake a Plank Wall: Teen Boys Room Update

I have been compensated and provided materials to share this fun project!
While I've been compensated by Walls Republic, opinions are 100% mine!

Our 16 year old son is getting a makeover on his room. The last time we painted his room he was 8, so it's long overdue! I suggested an "industrial look to him" and showed him pictures and he was all for it. Along with this look is the fun planked wall look and I wanted that for his room, but I did NOT want to do that much work. Thanks to wallpaper, I was able to fake it in under 2 hours!

You may remember that we made him a really unique, large desktop with laminate flooring, just a couple of weeks ago. So, now I was ready to work on his big red wall. Check out this before and after below! You're going to want to pin this post -- it's that good!

I feel like I've been opening my eyes to extra clutter lately! It's amazing, really. I'm going to write a post about it as soon as I finish all the summertime decluttering, but today I wanted to address 5 simple ways that I do on a daily basis that help me to have my {fake} immaculate house. Believe me, I'm no perfectionist and I really don't need things lined up in order just so. There is hope for you, whether you ARE a perfectionist or not, that you can keep your home looking amazing without having to slave over your home everyday to do it.

I have come up with some small space - like an RV, too - organizing and storage hacks from our brief six months of owning our own RV. I think that these will definitely help you think outside the box. And, if you have a friend who RVs or you are thinking about it in the future, pin this post and pass it on! Here are my hacks for getting the most use of a small space in your {home or} RV.

Boy's Room Update: Easy Desktop Tutorial

I have been compensated and provided materials to share this fun project!
While I've been compensated, opinions are 100% mine!

I shared a few weeks ago how our teenage son is turning 16 and so it was time to give him a little update in his room. I proposed this to him and he seemed very happy with "Mom's ideas" -- he really doesn't care too much about what his room looks like but is ready to let his red wall go....however, I'm doing one thing at a time.

Organizing for Families on the Run

Organizing for families on the run - when you're so busy you don't know what to do ::

From Tiffany, my assistant! Filling you in on some great organizing tips!

With 4 kids aged 18, 15, 10 and 1 I have someone at basically every stage of parenting.  I was breastfeeding my newborn at my daughter’s welcome week for college!  Some days are comical to be sure, and if I had a nickel for every time someone asked, “how do you do it?” I would be rich.
Track meets, youth group,  student council meetings, Bible study and many more things fill my calendar each week.

Here are some tips and tricks I've learned through the years to help you busy families cope!

Summer Tour of Homes {Organized} 2015

Welcome, if you are new here!

Today I have the privilege of joining a whole lot of amazing bloggers for home tours of all our homes - and you may have just come from seeing Donna of Funky Junk Interiorswho has such an amazing way of making rust look beautiful, and a big thank you to Gina of The Shabby Creek Cottage for hosting this awesome summer home tour.

I'd like to say that I feel that I have really created a home that is truly my style, after living in this home for nine years. I hope you enjoy my colorful,  slightly "modern with a vintage twist" decor. I'm not afraid of colors or patterns. Our home was built in 1947 and I love the character, the built-ins, the closets, and all the vintage that comes from having a home from that era. Hopefully you'll also gain some ideas for an organized home too!

I want to start with the front of my home and welcome you to our beautiful, Southern California yard - all native plants, drought tolerant {we're really into green living here, if you are new here}.

A Reflection of Five Years

It's hard for me to really believe that I have been blogging for five years today. I remember a few weeks before I actually took the plunge to my first blog post, I kept wondering what a good subject would be. What wasn't out there that I was good at. Three things were in my mind - gardening, decorating, and organizing.
