...you've had one of those days where you wore the WRONG thing and you just felt "off" all day? Yes, me too!

Then, one day I realized how much fun it was to find that my closet was FULL of fabulous outfits that I just didn't realize until I used Pinterest to find outfits instead of using Pinterest to covet clothes I didn't have or wanted! I wrote my first post about that HERE

Necklace: Forever 21
Ruffled top: Loft
Cardigan: Loft
Belt: Target

I'm sharing all my outfits - and you may love them or hate them. But, it's just to show you that you can certainly make more of the clothes you have and get rid of the clothes you don't need! Whatever way is easiest for you, whether you hang your hanger backwards when you wear a piece of clothing, or you have another system to know how much you wear something, this helped me to see if I really could use the clothes I had in my closet.

Purple Cropped Cardigan: Target

I don't claim to be the most fashion-wise, but I've come a LONG way. I think I dress better in my mid-40s than I did in my mid-20s. I tried too hard, back then. I realize now that I have to find what I like, not what's in style. At my age, I've also learned to invest in a few good pieces. I have a few "cheap" pieces, but the bulk of my wardrobe are staples that weren't cheap and I wear over and over again.

I've also found the "half-tuck" has been amazing at helping to hide my tummy! I long for my flat stomach I had before kids and my c-section. But, as years go by, gravity kicks in, and a few extra pounds linger, I can't hide it very well anymore. This trick I learned when I attended a CABi party {similar to a "trunk" fashion show} several months ago and I am SO thankful I did! You belt your pants with a wide belt, then tuck just the front of you flow-y blouse in, leaving the rest untucked. Not kidding...it makes me look thinner and defines my waist! Belts actually help you look slimmer! Don't hide from them - embrace them - skinny, thick, elastic, colorful! You can buy them at Target and play with them!

I also use accessories as a fun way to kick up my outfit. I like to pick up fun, chunky necklaces on Groopdealz or Forever 21 - my two favorite places for inexpensive necklaces.

I think that I get overwhelmed sometimes just trying to come up with outfits that feel like they are new but I didn't just buy them. I tend to wear something a bunch and then get tired of it. I am not sentimentality attached to my clothes. I look at the investment pieces as my main staples, but other stuff I buy on sale/clearance or at outlets and after wearing a couple of years, I am ready to give it away and move on to a few new pieces.

My motto is: One in, One out! So, if I see something SUPER cute on sale, I have to justify it by giving away something else. I have a few friends that LOVE to get my cast offs, so I have someone that is always happy to get them!

Last, modesty is a BIG deal to me. I won't go into detail, but believe me, many of my friends and myself included, have been greatly effected by the lack of modesty that is out there. Ladies, please be kind and cover up stuff that shouldn't be showing. I'm not going to give you exact "standards", but just go by the saying "if you can see up it, down it, or through it, you probably shouldn't wear it" - if you're short, keep in mind that tall people can see down your shirt! If you sit down, things rise! You'll notice that every outfit I'm wearing a camisole {you may not always see it, but it's there}, my shorter skirts/dresses I wear skirt extenders {I also find them on Groopdealz}, and I try to keep my heart pure. That's all about that!
